Ridha Alhify

Ridha AlhilfyRidha Alhilfy has had a passion for painting for many years. Born in Iraq, he grew up making drawings and paintings with his father who was an avid art lover. Unfortunately, growing conflict in his country forced him and his family to move to a refugee camp where he remained for seven years. While he was there, a volunteer agent saw his paintings and told him he should try to go to America to and sell his work. In 1991, Ridha came to Lincoln and has been busy supporting his daughter and working. He took a few years off painting but recently has been able to start creating again. He likes going to galleries and museums because he gets inspiration and insight into new work.

    Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
