The 2011 National Arts Program

Entry Eligibility

  • Participant must be an employee, a retiree or a family member of an employee or a retiree of the City of Lincoln.
  • All entries must be the original work of the applicant. The following will not be accepted: copies; kits; paint-by-number pieces; photocopies or photographs of artwork, magazine or book illustrations, random snapshots. 
  • The National Arts Program and the City of Lincoln reserve the right to disqualify entries they consider to be unacceptable or inappropriate for a public exhibit.

Classifications

Artwork will normally be judged in the classification area the artist selects on their entry form. However, in some cases, the exhibition judges may decide the artist belongs in another area and will make the final classification determination.

Adult

  • Amateur: persons with little or no experience
  • Intermediate: persons with some experience (i.e. beginning art students or persons who have taken some art training)
  • Professional: persons with serious art training or an art degree or persons employed in an art-related job

Youth/Teen

  • Youth: 12 years and younger
  • Teen: 13-18 years old

Categories

  • Painting (oils, acrylics)
  • Works on Paper (watercolor, pencil, ink, charcoal, pastel, marker, crayon, computer-generated original works)
  • Photography (black-and-white or color, including digital)
  • Sculpture
  • Craft (ceramics, glasswork, jewelry, woodcarving, fiber)
  • Mixed Media (works of visual art combining more than one medium)

Registration

Online registration is encouraged but you may also download the registration form and mail it to the address below. It must be received by May 6, 2011.

Your entries must be delivered to the Lincoln Arts Council June 10 or June 13, 2011 (between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm).
