Donna Baddeley: Bio
A Lincoln native, Donna is always grateful for the arts opportunities she had growing up in Lincoln. Today, Donna is in constant demand as a solo piano performer, residency artist and educator. For more than thirty years, she has drawn from repertoire that spans 400 years to craft unforgettable inter-disciplinary performances and educational presentations. From larger venues such as the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln, Nebraska, to small under-served communities in central Louisiana, Donna’s career reflects her resolute belief that everyone deserves equal access to music performance and education. Proceeds from her recent benefit concert for the Music Endowment Fund for Lincoln Music Teachers Association Outreach Program increased the fund by over 30%.
Her passion for 18th century musicians and period instruments earned her scholarship and foundation support from the Music Teacher’s National Association in 2011. She has participated in international academies at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, Italy, and The Netherlands, where she participated in fortepiano master classes with Malcolm Bilson, Bart van Oort, and David Breitman.
Nebraska born and raised, Donna combines her international scholarship with accessibility and warmth.
From the piano studio to interactive residences, concert stage to music scholarship, she strives to reach audiences at all stages of musical understanding, from novice to connoisseur and of all ages, from kindergarten to senior citizens. Donna received her MM in piano performance and pedagogy from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Become acquainted with Donna's many professional ventures at: www.focusonpiano.com
