On Sunday, April 15, 2:00 p.m., at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 12th & M Street,  Donna Baddeley will be presenting a benefit concert for Lincoln Music Teachers Association's M.U.S.I.C. Endowment Fund.  Her solo piano recital is entitled:  Little Known Gems for Classical Piano, featuring works of Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, and Tcherepnin.  Audiences will be delighted by how Baddeley combines performing engaging selections with a visual component.

Sponsors for the concert are: FocusOnPiano.com, Saint Paul United Methodist Church, Heath Roehr Software Engineering, The Printer, Blooms & Bouquets, Vadnais Photography, Leon's Gourmet Grocer, Cupcakes & more…, and Lincoln Music Teachers Association. The benefit concert is free and open to the public.  All donations will go to benefit the M.U.S.I.C. Endowment Fund.

Established in 2011 at the Lincoln Community Foundation, the M.U.S.I.C. Endowment Fund, which currently exceeds $12,800 provides a secure financial future for the Music Outreach Program.  LMTA's Music Outreach Program began in 1997 as an affiliate of Music Teachers National Association's MusicLink Program and was restructured in 2007 into an independent program within LMTA.  The Music Outreach Program matches at-risk students from financially challenged families with qualified LMTA teachers.  Students contribute up to 10% of tuition and perform in service recitals.  Currently, there are 40 students and 16 instructors participating in the program.

In accordance with her resolute belief in equal access to music education, Baddeley served as founder and director of the program from 1997-2002, and guided the restructuring of the program as director from 2007-08.  She is also on the roster for the "Touring Artist" and the "Artists in Schools and Communities" programs with the Nebraska Arts Council.

Benefit concert artist, Donna Baddeley, infuses historical insights into carefully designed recital programs, culminating in highly artistic yet equally accessible concerts.  She performs concerts in many venues from formal recital settings, to small community outreach situations.  As a performing artist for over 25 years, Baddeley has drawn from repertoire that spans 400 years to craft unforgettable inter-disciplinary performances and educational presentations.  Her passion for scholarship and performing has taken her to Cornell University, Italy, and The Netherlands where she participated in fortepiano master classes with Malcolm Bilson, Bart van Oort, and David Breitman.

Nebraska born and raised, Donna combines her international scholarship with accessibility and warmth. From the piano studio to interactive residences, concert stage to music scholarship, she strives to reach audiences at all stages of musical understanding, from novice to connoisseur and of all ages, from kindergarten to senior citizens.  Donna received her MM in piano performance and pedagogy from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  Visit www.FocusOnPiano.com Special Event tab for more information.
