Artist Bio
My name is Krista DeSelms and I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. I began making wire wrapped jewelry at the beginning of 2010 and have been addicted to it ever since. Not only do I love making the jewelry but I love learning about and collecting all of the different gemstones I use in the creation of my works. I am truly excited to participate in the Lincoln Arts Festival this year and can’t wait for September to come!
Artist Statement
I make wire wrapped jewelry. The basic ingredients to my work are precious metals and gemstones. My pieces range from simple, only a frame around a beautiful stone, to elegantly intricate with flowing embellishments. I take pride in the fact that I only wrap and sell natural stones, no dyes or artificially made rocks unless someone asks expressly or they have something specific for me to wrap. I make these one of a kind wearable pieces of art with only my hands and tiny pliers.
