Artist Bio:

Jeny has been active as a performing artist, writer and arts educator earning her Ph.D. in Education with an interdisciplinary emphasis in art, music, dance and theatre. She acquired her first of five looms 8 years ago at a garage sale and then honed her weaving skills at Gaelic College on Cape Breton Island, Canada. Jeny has been a Wyoming resident for 50 years and strives to make her experiences of sage, stars, rocks and rivers vivid through her weavings. She presents her yarns and weavings through her business, “Jeny Originals Yarns and Handwovens”.

Artist Statement:

Jeny's weavings feature the visual and kinesthetic textures of the Wyoming scene with representational elements in pattern, yarn textures and color combinations without being pictorial. Jeny weaves exclusively with all natural fibers using several 4 and 8 shaft floor looms.
