Artist Bio:

It’s no wonder that Dave Christiansen’s artistic talents have taken him to galleries and art festivals throughout the Midwest. His artwork reflects a whimsical, fun outlook on ordinary life. The artist says, “My work is the result of finding inspiration in everyday life. Life is really a collision of motion and color. My art sort of ‘comes’ at you, making even ordinary events special.”

In addition to being an artist, he is a Creative Director for an advertising agency in Lincoln, NE. “The world of design is extremely facinating, the generations of young and old and how they view things can be so different.  Change is difficult sometimes to accept, but having the  willingness to step back and open up your mind to new things can make all the difference .”
Staying on top of current trends and technologies is important for Dave’s success at the agency as he helps his clients move forward and not remain too comfortable in one spot --not allow the world to pass them by. Combining art and design is a great approach for Dave. It allows him to be more open to new ideas and have the appreciation and freedom to create a piece of art for himself and not so much for the demands of others.

He studied commercial art and design and has  worked in Iowa and New York before landing back in his hometown of Lincoln, NE. Born in Lincoln, in 1959, Dave  has painted most of his life and hopes to continue his passion for art as long as he can hold a brush.

Artist Statement:

“My art is never really finished, just simply abbandoned.”
