Jacky Canton

Elizabeth, CO

Jewelry

Artist Bio:

I have been a jewelry artist since 1989, but my first career is classical music. I perform chamber music, and teach private flute lessons. I am from Elizabeth, CO, where my husband and I have a small passive solar house on four acres that we share with our four cats, two dogs, and a variety of wildlife. My other passions include fiber arts, gardening and wildlife watching.

Artist Statement:

I make all of my jewelry pieces one at a time by hand. My primary metal is sterling silver, often accented with other metals. I use advanced metalworking techniques including construction, piercing, forming, embossing, forging, marriage of metals, overlay, weaving, texturing, lamination and reticulation. I use a variety of natural gemstones and freshwater pearls. I also do a lot of my own lapidary work. My pieces are one-of-a-kind and I do not use any mass-production methods.
