Artist Bio:

I graduated from San Jose State University in 1973 with an MFA in ceramic art, and have been working exclusively with the camera for the past thirty years. I've been fortunate to be able to produce my art exclusively, thanks to the generous support of dozens of individual patrons and corporate collectors throughout the United States and Europe. Though my formal art education was in a three-dimensional media, a strong sense of composition in two dimensions is apparent in my work. What ties the images together is that they are unusual, they are composed in a painterly fashion, and there is a quality which touches most viewers and draws them into the scene.

Artist Statement:

Medium format painterly impressions of natural events in extraordinary light, each printed by the artist from the original negative, using traditional darkroom techniques, and the most archival papers available. The images are emotive, abstract, and minimalist. There is NO digital involvement in producing the work. The images are presented in a laminated glassless form which allows the photograph to be as present and brilliant as possible, with no reflected glare.
