Artist Statement:
It's important for me that each piece of my work contain a story. My jewelry is a visual expression of an idea and when a person chooses a piece to wear as their own, they connect with the soul of the piece in some way. Often I use recycled materials which give a piece a unique history. I find the idea of what a person treasures fascinating; we hold fast to the human connection a diamond represents before we hold onto the diamond itself. My challenge is to create the idea of treasure, using a clients personal history, my own ideas about life, and materials such as silver, gold, copper, stones, fabric, and well... really anything that carries a beauty within it.
