Artist Bio:

I am a full-time wood turner from Grand Island., NE, has been turning wood for 22 years. A self taught wood turner/furniture maker, I have received awards form Hastings, Lincoln, and Omaha Art Shows. My art work can be found in Galleries in, Hastings, Grand Island, Kearney, NE and Woodland Park CO. My art work has sold and shipped throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. I like to create from a piece of wood an object that demands the onlooker to "Pick Me Up and Feel Me".

Artist Statement:

Unique wooden vessels carved on a wood turning lathe using local and exotic woods. My favorite pieces of wood to work with will have voids, knots, splits, worm holes, cracks and fissures. I use these "flaws" to unleash the natural beauty of wood. I capture the timeless beauty of the grain, color, and natural flaws in a block of wood by turning that block into a pleasing, eye-gathering form. I like to create from a piece of wood an object that demands the onlooker to "Pick Me Up and Feel Me".
