Posted by: Lincoln Arts Council
December 9th, 2010 the Lincoln Arts Council Board of Directors approved the distribution of grant dollars to the arts community as recommended by a community review panel. This was a very competitive process with 20 organizations applying for funds. As approved by the board, eleven of the nonprofit arts organizations that applied were funded to help with the costs of a variety of different projects. Our thanks to the Richard P. Kimmel and Laurine Kimmel Charitable Foundation, Inc. for funding these worthy organizations and outreach projects:
Funds will support Angels new education space “The Roost” in Studio E, in the lower level of the Burkholder Project. This will be a space that will be available to members and friends of the company, as well as small arts groups and individuals who need a safe place for a rehearsal or a meeting.

As a bit of background, LAC Project Grants are given each year and are dependent on the LAC securing the resources to fund them. We are pleased that we can help projects such as these come to life and hope that we can continue to provide funding for grants such as this in the future. Congratulations to all of the organizations that were funded! To those who did not receive funding this year, we highly encourage you to apply again in the future. Thank you to all of the organizations for what you do to make the arts a vibrant and important part of our community!
