Grants totaling $20,000 from Woods Charitable Fund will be redirected to arts organizations for advancing board effectiveness. The funds were awarded to the Lincoln Arts Council in memory of Thomas C. "Chip" Woods III, a Lincoln arts advocate, community activist and philanthropist. Organizations with 501(c)3 status, based in Lincoln, Neb. that devote at least 80% of their time and activities to the arts, are eligible to submit proposals requesting up to $4,000 for planning and activities related to board development. The deadline for grant proposals will be March 15, 2004.
