Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company announces open auditions for 2011 Nutcracker and 2012 Cinderella ballets

Lincoln Midwest Ballet CompanyLincoln Midwest Ballet Company and Artistic Director Shari True have announced the auditions for the 2011 Nutcracker and 2012 Cinderella ballets. The Nutcracker production is celebrating its 27th year and has become a cherished Lincoln holiday tradition. Performances will be held at the Lied Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 18, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. Cinderella will be performed March 23, 24 and 25, 2012.

Auditions will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Johnny Carson Theater, Lied Center for Performing Arts (12th & Q Streets).  All auditioners, except gymnasts and party boys, must be at least 8 years old. Gymnasts and party boys must be at least 6 years old.

Through September 15, the one-time audition fee will be $20 and must be included with mailed registration. After September 15, the fee is $25, payable September 24 at audition. If using cash, please bring exact amount. Checks are payable to LMBC. Registrations should be mailed to: 315 S. 9th Street, Suite 110, Lincoln NE 68508.

All those auditioning should arrive 30 minutes prior to audition time, and everyone who is under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Bring a black and white or color snapshot (no larger than 4x6) of head and shoulders; females' hair should be in a bun. Please do not write your name on the photo.
