On your mark, get ready... for the Special Olympic Art Triathlon

Art TriathlonComing to Lincoln, a unique community outreach event that will provide opportunities for families to participate in the development of art during the Special Olympics.  Nine local artists will be stationed at three locations (Haydon Art Center, Sheldon Museum of Art and the Lincoln Arts Council) on Tuesday, July 20 from 3-7pm to demonstrate and assist in this art-making, family-oriented event.

Participants will move from site to site with a passport that will be stamped as they navigate their way to each event.  The joint venture has been funded by the Nebraska Arts Council.

The Lincoln Arts Council is proud to host artists Byron Anway, Sally Cox, and Nolan Tredway.  Other artists are: Janine Copple, Jewel Noll,  Liz She-McCoy (Haydon Art Center)  and Nancy Childs, Allison Fees, and Sean P. Morrissey (Sheldon Museum of Art).

If you would like to volunteer to help with this project please contact doug@artscene.org.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with setup, assisting with art activities, and cleanup.

Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
